Kiera 1 Month Update

Gabriel fell back asleep next to Kiera after waking up from a nap. Too cute, huh?
Emily meets Kiera for the first time. She was so excited to hold her.
Gabriel loves his Auntie Leia, and I have a feeling Kiera will feel the same way!
She was too interested in being held by her brother, but he insisted. :)
Kiera is starting to love her Baby Einstein mat. It was Gabriel's favorite, too.

So, our computer was broken for a week, and I am very behind on posting new things. I will do my best to catch everyone up!

KIERA - She is one month today and at the doctor yesterday she weighed a whopping 10 pounds, 6 ounces. Yes, that is right. Our little girl is huge!!! She is already outgrowing some clothes, and it does make me a little sad. (I know Lauren that you think Carrie and I are silly, but we just can't help ourselves).

What is she up to:
  • Beginning to smile - she looks just like Gabriel when she smiles
  • Making noises other than crying - they are minimal, but there is the occasional "coo"
  • Sleeping a bit better at night - only a couple of nights the past week or so have been rough, but those rough nights are farther and farther apart
  • Following us with her eyes - she must have really good eyes because she can be in her chair and I will move from in front of her and she follows me with her head
  • Spit-up! If you remember Gabriel spitting up, then this is nothing, but it has started
GABRIEL - He went for his 2 year check-up and is weighing in at 32 pounds. I know that sounds big, but he really has only gained 2 pounds since his 18 month checkup, and it has been more than 7 months since then. He has really slowed down.
What he is up to:
  • Repeating everything including Edward saying "Oh, balls" the other day. he is talking so much saying "bless you" when someone sneezes, "excuse me, thank you, please" and all other things like that.
  • His favorite phrase right now is "Up, up mommy". That might have something to do with me holding Kiera a lot, but it is pretty cute.
  • He is still fairly fond of his sister, which is good. He holds her more and gives her kisses on occasion.
  • Bed time routines have been rough since Kiera was born, but we are getting better.
  • The kids and I went over to a friend's house to visit, and he played so well with his best little friend, Addisen. They played so well all day long. Holly and I were so impressed. We were outside for over 2 hours in the morning and they couldn't have been happier (we really enjoyed it as well).
