A Love Hate Relationship

Where he usually falls asleep!

Many people have been asking how Edward is doing in the academy, so I thought I would share.
Edward:
Loves his job! Isn't that funny since it is supposed to be so horrible and whatnot. Well, he does, and that makes the rest of us very happy. His day right now pretty much consists of PC (physical conditioning) class, colors (traditional flag stuff), more class, sometimes lunch and then more class. Tests are on Mondays and so far he is doing very well (I think about a 92% average).
Melynda:
I hate being a single mom. It isn't anyone's fault, but I am so over it. I can't wait until Edward comes home to take the kids off of my hands for 5 minutes. Literally that is all he has time for most of the time. The gym has become my favorite babysitter!
Edward:
Hates getting up way before the sun.
Melynda:
Loves her husband's amazing new body!!! Seriously, he looks awesome!!! (Not that you didn't before, Honey!)
Mostly, the kids and I are trying to be as supportive as possible. We appreciate everyone keeping Edward in their thoughts and prayers. He still has 15 weeks and 2 days left!
Here is some fun video I took the other day!

Schnepf Farms - Pumpkin Fun!!

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids to the Pumpkin and Chili Festival. We had so much fun!!
Gabriel playing on the train!
All of us on the carousel (minus all the hubbies that were at work).

Gabriel and Addisen went on their first ride by themselves! I think Holly and I were much more nervous than they were.

Squishing the pumpkins!

Another Ear Infection

It appears that Kiera is on the quest to follow in her brother's footsteps of repeat ear infections. Although we have only had two, she has been on 3 different medications. This was typical of Gabriel as well. By the time he was done he had been on 7 different medications and discovered an allergy to sulfa (same as his Grandpa Ed).

Anyways, after 5 months of straight ear infections he got tubes at 10 months old and he hasn't had a problem since. We are hoping that we can solve Kiera's problem prior to that!

She is feeling so much better after being on drugs for the last 3 days and actually believes in napping again, thank goodness!

We will keep you updated.

The Park

We love going to the park. Gabriel has so much fun with his friends and Kiera just loves being outside.
Gabriel, Abby, and Addisen feeding the ducks!
On the tire swing. Abby is still a little too small to hold on by herself since the chains are so far apart, so she sat on my lap.
No matter how big the park, they all have to do the same thing at the same time!
Typical conversation from the three of them.
Addisen: Mine!
Abby: MIIIIINNNNE!!!
Gabriel: No, mine!
and on and on....
Yes, we still continue to get together because we always know it will be a lot of fun, but we also seem to think it will be peaceful. We have hope for the future.

Gabriel with a moment to himself it appears, but really Addisen comes down right after him and then Abby after her!

We miss you Great-Grandma!

Last week was Edward's grandmother's birthday, so I thought I would share some favorite pictures. We lost her 2 years ago and although we were so blessed to have her be a short part of Gabriel's life, we will always be sad that she will not be a part of Kiera's. We love and miss her so much!

No longer a teenager!

I can't believe my little sister, Brittany, is no longer a teenager. She is now 20 years old. Even typing that it feels strange.
Lighting her candles. The only picture I have of her looking at the camera is blurry. Stupid camera!

Grandma Taylor and Kiera at Aunt Brittany's birthday dinner. We enjoyed a very yummy feast!

6 Months old!

Gabriel at 6 months old!

Kiera at 6 months old.

Seriously, she doesn't look like me or Edward. Thoughts?

Miaha Turns 5!

We had a great time celebrating Miaha's 5th birthday with lots of her friends and family. Miaha is my sister Keri's daughter.

Kiera with her cousin Keoni. They are only three weeks apart, and look at how cute they are making practically the same face!

More wedding pics

Shannon sent me some more pictures from the wedding!

Gabriel and Chloe. She was his dancing partner for the evening. Here she was in her jammies getting ready to leave and her mom got a picture of them holding hands.

A Groomsman and a Ring Bearer

This past weekend we were lucky enough to be able to go to our friends' wedding. Bryant and Shannon had a beautiful wedding that included Edward as a groomsman and Gabriel as a ring bearer. Gabriel was so cute in his tux! The pictures didn't come out that well because I forgot my camera and videocamera, so the pictures are from my phone which doesn't have a flash.
Gabriel and the bride! Shannon looked amazing!
Grandma and Kiera! Grandma was a big help by watching Kiera when I was making sure Gabriel was waiting his turn to walk down the aisle.
Edward and I with the kids!

Edward, Grandma and the kids!

Bryant and Shannon are now enjoying an awesome honeymoon in Maui! Thank you guys for including us in your very important day. We wouldn't have missed it for the world! Love you guys!!!

It's like the last supper....

So, tomorrow my hubby will be starting the police academy! He has been doing the "Pre-academy" for the last two weeks in preparation for the actual academy and what did we learn from all that?

The necessities of his lunch (at least for now):

2 apples (sliced and bagged separately)
1 banana
cheeze its
sun chips
peanut butter sandwich (cut in half for 2 separate snacks)
meat sandwich (5 slices of meat, 1 slice of cheese, and lettuce)
2 gogurts
carrot sticks
2 string cheeses
snickers bar
gatorade (G2)

Conclusion: Edward's food for his work day costs more than feeding the rest of us all day long (including the day care kids)

Wish Edward luck! He is doing amazing so far, and Gabriel, Kiera and I are very proud of him!!!
